What are the ICASS meetings?

The International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS) is held every three years and is hosted by the university holding the IASSA Secretariat. ICASS VII hosted by University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, Canada attracted 470 IASSA members from 26 countries.

ICASS I took place in Ste-Foy, Quebec, Canada in 1992 and since then the conference has gathered researchers from all over the world to share ideas about social science research in the Arctic. We encourage participation of indigenous peoples, northern residents, decision-makers and politicians, as well as academics, to attend the conference.
